TIPTO replaces three members

Sunday, 30 Aug, 2005 0

Independent suppliers organisation TIPTO has recruited new members after losing three and a fourth shut down.

The new additons to the Truly Independent Professional Travel Organisation are Premier Holidays, Purple Parking and Spanish accommodation specialist OVP Travel.

They replace Amathus Holidays, Holiday Options and Transun which are not renewing their membership from September 1. Another member, US operator Getaway Holidays, has been closed down.

The new companies were added after TIPTO relaxed rules restricting each member to only promoting one product category.

TIPTO enters its seventh year next month with 20 members and a budget of almost £500,000 to be used on a programme of 19 road shows, a new training initiative as part of a relaunched website and other initiatives.

Chairman Ian Mounser (Superbreak) said: “We have had a number of applications for membership throughout the summer and we are delighted to welcome the three new companies, who will help keep the total TIPTO product portfolio both fresh and relevant for independent agents.”
