TNZ, Thai Airways team up for Indian air fare promotion
Having already collaborated with the Indian travel trade to promote the ICC Cricket World Cup Down Under, Tourism New Zealand has entered into a partnership with Thai Airways to offer special airfares for the Indian market.
TNZ has joined with Auckland Airport to promote Thai Airways’ fares on the Auckland route from Indian cities until March 2015.
"We are very happy about our new partnership with Thai Airways and Auckland Airport, especially since it is open to travellers right before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. India is a priority emerging market in South and South East Asia and is central to the long term strategy of both Tourism New Zealand and Thai Airways," said David Craig, General Manager Asia at TNZ.
TNZ said the promotion will focus on Indian travellers with high disposable incomes.
Korakot Chatasingha, general manager at Thai Airways also welcomed the partnership.
"Thai is happy to partner with Tourism New Zealand and Auckland Airport to stimulate more visitors to Auckland. Our main focus this winter is to increase tourists to Auckland especially with our daylight flights from New Delhi and new additional daylight services from Kolkata," Korakot said.
Last week TNZ estimated that up to 15,000 Indians will head to Australia and New Zealand in February and March to watch the action at ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
