Toilet paper tweet saves the day
If 2014 was the year of #PassengerShaming (see Mashable’s definitive list of ‘The worst things people do on airplanes, ranked‘), airline JetBlue wants to right those wrongs in 2015 with its new #FlightEtiquette campaign. The series of humorous videos takes a selection of common inflight situations and shows us how NOT to deal with them, while asking us how we would act if we were in their shoes (seat). We’re following the series as it is posted on the airline’s Twitter feed, stay tuned for more videos.
It is often said that social media is impairing our ability to communicate effectively with one another; well Virgin Trains would beg to differ. Earlier this week, one witty passenger on a Virgin Train took to Twitter after finding himself in a rather tricky situation while travelling. The passenger went to use the facilities on board only to find that there in fact was no toilet paper, hoping to arouse amusement amongst his followers, the passenger took to twitter where he tweeted @VirginTrains to explain his dilemma. Virgin Trains not only responded to this tweet but they also came to his rescue, highlighting that social media is in many ways breaking communication boundaries and taking customer service to a whole new level. It seems that Virgin Trains may just be the new heroes on Twitter… who will they save next?

What’s in a name? Well, after the hashtag #elizabethgallagher went viral it would appear quite a lot. One unfortunate gentleman found himself at a loss when he broke up with his girlfriend and was left with a round the world ticket in her name. The Canadian Jordan Axani took to Reddit in search of a girl who was also Canadian and had same name as his former flame, Elizabeth Gallagher in order to pass on the ticket. In no time at all news outlets worldwide joined in spreading the word. With more than one girl coming forward things came down to a Skype interview with 18 girls before the lucky winner was chosen and the rest so they say was history…
