Two former Cadogan Holidays directors have established a new travel business aimed at cruise lines and their passengers.
Shorex Travel is to offer tours for cruise passengers and transatlantic voyagers who want to spend a few days either pre- or post-cruise experiencing the destination.
The business is being developed and managed by Tom Allen and Doug Mathieson, ex-directors of Cadogan Holidays.
Based in Chertsey in Surrey, Shorex Travel expects to start trading before the end of the year.
Programme contracting and distribution arrangements are currently being put in place, according to the founders.
Primary customers are cruise lines and cruise agents with suitable high-end consumers.
Accommodation will be in carefully selected, boutique and exclusive hotels.
All destinations will have a local, carefully vetted, “friend in the city” to provide truly expert insider knowledge.
Destinations in the US and UK will be the initial focus.
“Central to the ground arrangements is a series of ‘money can’t buy’ programmes based on a core of differentiated, unique product with an aspirational, learning bias,” a company statement said.
