Tony Iredale Travel sold
Well known independent agency Tony Iredale Travel has been sold to the United Co-op Travel Group.
The West Yorkshire based retail and business travel company has annual turnover of £12 million.
The acquisition of the Huddersfield agency for an undislcosed sum follows United Co-op’s business travel division recently acquiring Hourds Travel.
The Tony Iredale Travel deal will add branches in Huddersfield, Marsh, Holmfirth and Brighouse to the United Co-op’s expanding portfolio. Branch staff have transferred to the Co-op as part of the deal, the company said.
United Co-op Travel group retail distribution general manager Alistair Rowland said: “This is an important acquisition as Tony Iredale Travel is one the the leading miniples in the North of England which will further strengthen our position in this highly competitive travel sector.
“The acquisition is a good strategic fit with our existing retail branch network and Huddersfield provides an ideal location for us to offer an excellentservice to customers and to make a significant contribution to UCTG’s developing profitability.”
