Top ski resort named by USA Today
Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows has been named as the ‘Best Ski Resort’ by USA Today and 10Best Annual Readers’ Choice Poll.
The resort was one of 20 nominated by a panel of pro skiers and boarders and voted the top by readers of USA Today and 10Best.
Squaw Valley hosted the 1960 Winter Olympics and USA Today noted in its description of the resort that it "has only gotten better since then."
It has more than 6,000 skiable acres, 42 lifts and 270 trails that feature over 65 % of beginner and intermediate terrain, steeps that attract extreme skiers and riders, and 14 mountain zones – all on one lift ticket.
Squaw Valley beat several giants in the ski world, including Aspen Snowmass and Whistler Blackcomb.
"We are overjoyed to share this award with the entire Reno-Tahoe community, which works together to provide an award-worthy experience for our guests," said Andy Wirth, president and CEO of Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows.
