APT’s Africa brochure for 2014 includes two new itineraries.

The company has launched its own luxury tented camp in the Serengeti, more than doubled departures on its two-night Chobe River cruise on board the Zambezi Queen and is offering two new tour extensions.

APT general manager marketing, Debra Fox, said: "Last year’s sales for this destination (Africa) were phenomenal. Within just three months of launching our 2013 brochure we were adding new dates to keep up with demand."

Sea Dream from Dubrovnik to Rome

SeaDream Yacht Club will sail five days from Dubrovnik in Croatia to Civitavecchia (Rome) on October 9, visiting Kotor in Montenegro, the Greek island of Corfu, a sail-by of Mt Etna volcano in Sicily, and a day on Italy’s Isle of Capri.

SeaDream I, one of the world’s highest-rated mega motor-cruisers, has 56 staterooms for 112 guests served by 95 crew.

Price begins from US$2804pp twin-share.

Intrepid’s taste of LA

Intrepid Travel’s Los Angeles Urban Food Safari has won the Los Angeles Magazine Best Food Tour 2013 Award.

An exploration of LA’s ethnic neighbourhoods, the Urban Food Safari takes visitors on a four-hour tour of Koreatown, Little Armenia and Thai town, some of LA’s most vibrant and often hidden areas.

Local restaurants, markets, hole-in-the-wall eateries and bakeries provide sweet and savoury treats along the way.

The LA Urban Food Safari is part of Intrepid Travel’s Food Adventures – a range of food trips focussing on authentic, local, grassroots food experiences, celebrating street fare, local specialties, secret home recipes, markets and urban food culture.
