Tour operator and cruise agent fails after 21 years

London-based tour operator and cruise agent Hari Aum has ceased trading after 21 years.

The company, which had offices in Neasden, also operated as Hari Aum Cruises, Hari Aum Holidays and Premier H Club.

It also had a website, hariaum.com, on which it advertised a range of long and short-haul holidays in addition to local yoga sessions and yoga trips abroad.

According to its website, the business, which was founded in 1995 and run by two directors Archna and Harish Muji Gohl, was a member of CLIA and it had its own ATOL licence.

When it ceased trading last week, it had 40 customers abroad and 159 forward bookings.

The CAA said those customers already abroad who hold scheduled flight tickets should find their tickets remain valid for the return flight, however they are being advised to check with their airlines.

It said it was speaking to accommodation providers to guarantee no changes to their accommodation, but it said it was possible customers would be required to pay again for accommodation and other elements of their trip booked through Hari Aum, which have not been paid for.

"Consumers who are required to repay, should ensure that they retain a clear receipt showing the method of payment; which will be required in order to submit a claim for reimbursement," it said.

Customers who have been issued tickets for future flights and an ATOL certificate confirming a package sale might still be able to travel, said the CAA, but they should check with their airline to check their ticket is still valid.

If they don’t wish to travel, or they have non-valid flights, they can make a claim for a refund for any ATOL-protected~packages.

"The other services have not been paid to local suppliers and you will be required to re-arrange and pay for these services again. ~ To avoid any issues in resort, consumers still wishing to travel should confirm all the elements of their booking and agree payment for these in advance of travel," said the CAA. ~
