Tourabout has “more grunt” for agents

The technology driving the new Tourabout EnterpriseAgent website for travel agents is significantly more powerful than the technology used by consumers at www.tourabout.com.au Tourabout stated today.

While the technology on the consumer site is leading-edge, it gains more sophisticated search and more detailed display functionality for agents’ use, according to Tourabout CEO, Ben Jackson.

“Agents need to specify, qualify and match product in greater detail so they can close a sale quickly,” he said.

Last week, Travelscene American Express announced that it was the first agency group to rollout Tourabout’s EnterpriseAgent, a powerful tool developed specially for agents to qualify and match a customer’s travel preferences with thousands of tours and holiday packages provided on the site by more than 50 leading suppliers.

Mr Jackson said it was clear that Tourabout would deliver to agents increased revenue opportunities through speed of use and the ability to match customers with product on the spot.

“However, what emerged from last week’s announcement was some agents who have not yet seen the product asked if the system provided the same level of service as that available on the consumer site,” he said.

“It’s got a lot more grunt for agents and when you team that with smart customer service, we expect our agency partners to be able to sell a lot more product,” Mr Jackson said.

One extra sale per fortnight through Tourabout for each organisation in an agency group would make a big difference to the group’s bottom line, said Mr Jackson.

“Rather than sift through massive amounts of information or hand out brochures and hope the customer comes back, now agents using Tourabout’s EnterpriseAgent can make better and immediate product recommendation which positively impact on satisfaction for customers, sales generation, new revenue opportunities for agents and more bookings for wholesalers and suppliers.”

Other benefits include: agents have access to suppliers’ most up-to-date prices and itineraries; ease of connection through Tourabout’s seamless log-in that replicates agency intranet log-in arrangements with their suppliers; and Tourabout applies no commission to a sale an agent makes through the site.
