Tourism Australia, Garuda partner for Indonesian campaign
Tourism Australia has teamed up with Indonesian flag carrier Garuda for a major joint marketing campaign aimed at cementing Indonesia’s place as one of the fastest growing tourism markets to Australia.
The campaign will run until June 2015 on television and digital media to showcase Australian destinations served by Garuda.
Garuda flies to Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.
There is also a tie-in with several Indonesian travel agencies which will offer specially designed ‘There’s nothing like Australia’ travel packages for travellers.
The agencies are Dwidaya, Golden Rama, Australian Centre, Panen Tour, Avia Tour, AntaVaya and Smailing Tour.
"Garuda is a valued partner for Tourism Australia, and it is a pleasure to work with the award-winning airline to bring Indonesians to Australia to find out why ‘There’s nothing like Australia’," said Michael Newcombe, regional general manager, Southeast Asia and The Gulf, Tourism Australia.
"Tourism is a key industry for both Indonesia and Australia. We are proud that Tourism Australia and Garuda are playing their part to strengthen relationships between the two countries," he added.
The first six months of 2014 saw a near 10% rise in Indonesian visitors to Australia compared to the same period last year.
