Tourism Ireland strengthens that French connection
Although Caroline Brunel, formerly eMarketing and Internet Manager for Tourism Ireland is French, many people think she is Irish, with her broad French accent being tempered by working for Tourism Ireland in Sydney for the last few years.
The good news is that newly appointed Manager for Tourism Ireland Orla Saul has announced the appointment of Caroline Brunel to succeed Orla as Marketing Manager for Tourism Ireland in Australia, Orla getting the well deserved step up to the even bigger big gig!
Caroline moved to Tourism Ireland’s Australian office in 2005 as eMarketing and Internet Manager, with Tourism Ireland recognised as market leader in the region in the use of the internet, with Caroline having worked in the French office of Tourism Ireland for six years prior to her move to Australia.
eMarketing will continue to be a key element of Caroline’s new role but she will also be responsible for Tourism Ireland’s general consumer and trade marketing activities and in addition, she will manage Tourism Ireland’s MICE activities in Australia.
Caroline said, “eMarketing will be a key focus in 2008 and Tourism Ireland has shifted significant resources into digital marketing.” “I am very excited about growing our e-communication and continuing as innovators in this area”
Caroline has a degree in Communications from the Institut Francais de Presse, Paris and has also completed a Masters of Multimedia, Internet and Information Systems.
Caroline initiated numerous successful projects in 2007, such as the recent Mr P campaign, and also the very successful Shamrock Agent online training programme in Australia.
She also launched the Tourism Ireland new generation website which attracts thousands of Australians each month.
Caroline has also made significant inroads into perfecting her Irish accent and although she is French, many people now mistake her for Irish!
