Tourism New Zealand touches up campaign images
A report in The Herald Sun says that Tourism New Zealand has admitted it digitally enhanced images of scenic New Zealand spots in its 100 per cent Pure New Zealand campaign.
Tourism spokeswoman Simone Flight said the shots were altered for technical reasons, adding, “Technically, an image that has been shot at a wide angle may need to be altered and reformatted to fit all the features we want to show in the format it will appear.”
“We do not have the budget to wait forever for the perfect image,” she said with Tourism NZ releasing its latest images on Friday.
The two images, one of Mt Cook and another of Glenorchy, feature people enjoying the beautiful landscapes – “an experience that can happen any day in our country”, Ms Flight said.
