Travel firms voted the best companies to work for

Travel firms have been voted the best companies to work for as six make it to the top 100 list in the UK.

Scottish-based Skyscanner was the highest in 6th place for 2014, having been new to the Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For list last year. It scored high in leadership with employees rating its senior managers.

Red Carnation Hotel Collection was in 8th place, up from 26th last year and Holiday Extras was 10th in the overall list but scored higher in the well-being category for creating a good work/life balance.

Audley Travel was in 30th place, Flight Centre in 60th and Kuoni in 75th.

Four travel firms also featured in the best ‘Big’ companies to work for with 5,000-plus in the workforce.

Bourne Leisure was 5th, Marriott Hotels was 6th, Midcounties Co-operative was 10th, up from 13th last year, and American Express was 13th.

Companies were judged on employees’ opinions on leadership, well being, giving something back and personal growth.
