Travel sector is one of hardest hit in retail
More travel agencies and tour operators have closed than most other retailers on the high street this year, according to a new survey.
Retail and leisure data aggregator The Local Data Company studied a quarter of a million businesses up and down the country and discovered that in 2009 10% of them shut down.
During that period, 13.2% of travel agencies and tour operators in the study closed. The survey does not show how many travel companies in total were part of the survey.
