There were several good performances among travel and tourism shares yesterday as London’s main equity indices pushed ahead. The FTSE 100 index gained 30.2 points to close at 4518.1 – it’s highest closing mark since July 2002 – while the broader-based FTSE 250 gained 29.3 points to end the day at 6137.4. The best performers on the “News From Abroad Index” were Ryanair, which gained 21.13p to close at 523.4p, and lastminute.com, which added 8.25p to end the day at 238.25p.
