Travel Stockwatch: Airline shares soar
Airline shares had an exceptional day yesterday as London’s equity markets moved ahead.
The FTSE 100 index added 42.3 points to close at 4453.9, while the FTSE 250 put on 37.3 points to end the day at 6073.6.
Easyjet was the best performer, adding 10.5 points to close at 150.5 on more rumours that founder Stelios Haji-Ioannou will soon bid to take the airline private once more.
British Airways added 5.5p to end the day at 229p as oil prices dropped back, while Ryanair also had a very positive session and added 12.69p to finish at 298.46p
