Travel Technology Show 2007 – Free Technology Advice and Website Evaluation

Thursday, 06 Feb, 2007 0

Earls Court, London – 13th & 14th February 2007.

For the 4th year running, Equinus in conjunction with SourceIT-Travel.com will be manning the Advice Centre at the Travel Technology Show, Europe’s premier industry event. The Advice Centre is a first point of call for many visitors, most of whom want to know which suppliers are best able to help and what questions to ask.

The Advice Centre will be manned by Equinus Consultants on both days of the Show, where visitors can also get free, personal consultations. It is recommended that consultations are booked in advance, as demand is high.

New for 2007. Equinus has teamed up with Ellion to offer visitors an exclusive and totally confidential website evaluation. The evaluation is free and covers all the essential features that contribute to a successful travel website.

The 12-page written evaluation will cover eight key website success factors – visibility, design, navigation, content, accessibility, interactivity, personalisation and functionality. Ellion, specialists in information management and website design, will undertake the detailed evaluation and Equinus, the UK’s leading travel technology consultancy, will provide an overall summary and recommendations.

The Advice Centre is also offering every visitor an exclusive Travel Technology Show service called eConsultancy.

eConsultancy provides 12 months FREE technology advice and is exclusive to Show visitors, all of whom can register at the Advice Centre for a free subscription.

Visitors can also purchase a copy of the 2006/07 SourceIT Travel Technology Guide. The 90-page Guide lists over 600 suppliers of travel technology and includes reviews of many of the Show exhibitors. The reviews have been written by Equinus, the UK’s leading travel technology consultancy. The Guide includes an Equinus check list for choosing a new system.

The Guide, normally priced at GBP59, can be purchased at the Advice Centre for GBP25. For more information about the 2006/07 Travel Technology Guide

Equinus Partner, Mike Cogan says, “It still surprises us that some travel companies have well designed websites that can’t be found on search engines. Others spend large sums of money on pay-per-click advertising to drive visitors to sites that lack basic functionality.

In developing the website evaluation, we picked a website at random. It’s a great looking site with excellent navigation and information. But it didn’t appear on any search engines and there was no call to action. With just a few, simple improvements, this site could convert visitors into customers, but I doubt the owner has noticed the problem. Too many travel companies still think a website presence is enough. In reality it has to be fit for purpose and our free website evaluation will show what can add value and find new customers.”

The Advice Centre is sponsored by Stibo Catalog, a leading provider of brochure and content management solutions for the travel industry. Free advice is provided by Equinus, the UK’s leading travel technology consultancy.
