Traveliko disrupts the OTA business model with the lure of zero commissions
A Bangkok based online hotel booking site hopes to transform the OTA business model and ‘fix the industry’ which hits hotels with sky-high commissions.
Traveliko is aiming to lure hotels with the promise of zero commissions, which it says is the first of its kind in the world.
The system has been tested over three years and a no-commission, subscription based service is a logical next step for the travel industry, it says.
"We simplified the relationship between customers and service providers for the benefit of both parties. We work directly with hotels to guarantee the best available rate, and we have replaced commissions with a subscription model that provides hotels with a free listing for up to 100 bookings per month, supplemented by a range of premium options for a modest fee," said Yann Gouriou, traveliko’s co-founder and COO.
Aside from a transformational approach to the hotelier-OTA relationship, traveliko wants to solve the high expense and time consuming nature of cross border payments.
It is working with other travel tech companies to develop a smart payment platform using Blockchain tech.
"By offering a fast, free and effective booking engine that works with a wide spectrum of hospitality services we can challenge outdated approaches to the travel business. Our zero commission policy means hotel owners and management companies now have access to an efficient high-value booking solution," said CTO Bjorn Harvold.
