Travelocity to ‘retain brand in UK’
A report claiming that Sabre and Travelocity are considering phasing out the travelocity.co.uk website and brand has been denied.
The claims made in this week’s edition of Marketing magazine met with a strong rebuttal from the deputy boss of Travelocity in Europe.
Sabre/Travelocity’s takeover of lastminute.com has led to speculation about the future of the various brands.
But Damon Tassone, Travelocity deputy CEO – Europe, responded to the report by saying: “Travelocity can state categorically that it plans to retain the travelocity.co.uk brand and website, and any report to the contrary is inaccurate and misleading.
“We have said consistently that we expect to follow a multi-brand strategy in Europe, and particularly the United Kingdom.”
