Travelodge to open 15 new hotels
Travelodge will open 15 new hotels in the UK as part of a £100 million investment.
The budget chain, which already has 500 properties in the UK, is expanding beyond its traditional roadside locactions into more key city centre and leisure locations.
Five new hotels will open in London and others will open in Glasgow, Manchester and Southampton and in leisure destinations including Southport, Christchurch, Llandudno, Ryde on the Isle of Wight and Harrogate.
The hotels will have the chain’s contemporary new-look rooms with the signature Travelodge Dreamer bed.
Alongside the expansion, over a third of the £100 million investment will be spent modernising existing hotels.
Travelodge chief executive Peter Gowers, said the group would be recruiting 1,000 people this year.
