Traveloka expanding to Australia
Indonesian online travel giant Traveloka has made its first foray outside Southeast Asia.
The company has expanded to Australia.
It will offer online flight ticket booking, accommodation, travel packages, ground transportation, tours and activities for Aussie users.
"Australia is a country that has better infrastructure in terms of connection, payment, and internet adoption," says Yady Guitana, Traveloka’s head of global partnerships.
The firm expects strong demand from the Australia market, especially for inbound travelers to Indonesia.
Australia is still a core source market, especially for travel to perennial favourite Bali.
Traveloka is a brand partner of the tourism ministry’s ‘Wonderful Indonesia’ campaign.
Data from Indonesia’s Central Statistics Agency showed 1.3 million Australians visited the archipelago in 2018.
As well as the core Indonesia domestic market, Traveloka also has a strong customer base in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines.
