Travelport first quarter figures show improved net revenue

Travel technology provider Travelport experienced a 5% higher net revenue of $581 million in its first quarter of 2010 compared to the same period last year.
Figures just released show it also saw an operating income of $60 million, again a 5% increase on the first quarter of 2009.
The company, which owns about 48% of Orbitz Worldwide, showed a smaller first-quarter net loss attributable to the travel search site of US$21 million compared with US$171 million last year.
Travelport achieved adjusted EBITDA of $139 million for the three months ended March 31, 2010, representing an increase of 2% compared to the prior year.
