Travelport launches live test of Qantas NDC bookings
Travelport has started accepting the first Qantas bookings using the New Distribution Capability (NDC) standard.
A live test programme is being conducted through Travelport Smartpoint as Qantas preps for full NDC content roll out in late 2019.
The selected agencies participating in the test include ATPI Corporate Travel, Globetrotter and Travel Beyond.
It will be rolled out to more agencies in the coming months.
It underpins the airline’s plans for the Qantas Distribution Platform (QDP) which aims to enhance the customer shopping experience with personalised content tailored to each traveller’s needs.
"Qantas shares our vision that NDC has the potential to enhance the travel experience for its customers, offering personalized and differentiated choice," said Scott Barber, managing director Australia and New Zealand at Travelport.
"NDC delivery is complex and requires collaboration from all parts of the travel industry. We value our relationship with Qantas and are grateful to our test agencies for partnering with us."
