Travelsavers designs for a ‘zero commission world’
Travelsavers has unveiled a new net-fare booking engine that allows US agents to create packages online.
TripExpressPRO enables retailers to devise their own trips and add price mark-ups for customers.
The launch of the technology is part of Travelsavers’ strategy to move to zero commission for agents and encourage them to implement service charges.
“We are working with our members by planning for a zero commission world and being proactive to their financial needs,” said Jim Mazza, senior vice president of operations at Travelsavers.
With TripExpressPRO, Travelsavers’ 2,400-plus agents can mix and match discounts from air, car and hotel brands for dates, times and places in one simple search.
The system is expected to be up and running by July 29 and will be available on the home page of the company’s Extranet for all members to book through, regardless of their global distribution system.
Travelsavers also plans to have exclusive Web pricing and product inventory with TripXpressPRO.
“A few of the product’s great features are that agents don’t have to change their business process, integrate any technology or pay any fees.
“They access TripXpressPRO through their Extranet and set their own mark-ups, which are automatically included in the single price paid by the consumer and directly deposited weekly into their bank accounts.”
