TravelSupermarket expects booking bonanza this weekend
TravelSupermarket is predicting that this weekend will be the busiest weekend of the year for researching and booking a 2014 holiday.
It forecasts that bookings will be 18% higher than last weekend because for many it will be the first pay day since Christmas.
According to a poll by TravelSupermarket:
– 31.3% of consumers have already booked their holiday for 2014
– last week, 10% of searches were for a February 2014 get away
– Tenerife (10% of bookings), Majorca (8%) and the Costa Blanca (7%) are top destinations
– long-haul destinations Orlando, New York and Las Vegas have each seen 6% of the top searches this month
– 42% of bookings are for seven night breaks and 18% for two weeks
– (12%) and August (11%) are the most popular months for departures.
