Marriott International’s independent brand Tribute Portfolio has marked its arrival in Bali with the opening of Sthala, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Ubud Bali.

Sthala is Tribute’s first new build property and is sited on a hilltop in the Lodtunduh area of Ubud,

It features 143 rooms and suites, distinctive dining venues and a rooftop bar and lounge.

This being Ubud, there is a strong wellness focus with a fitness centre, spa and yoga deck.

"Tribute Portfolio is a brand built by and for our loyalty members. At the time of the brand’s inception, members expressed the desire for more access to independent hotels in locations like Bali, especially in indie neighbourhoods such as Ubud.  We are thrilled to deliver on that ask and provide our guests with an independent hotel as distinct as Sthala," said Brian Povinelli, Global Brand Leader for Tribute.

"We look forward to welcoming guests with our signature authentic Balinese hospitality only found here on the ‘Island of Gods,’ allowing them to seek independent experiences while at the same time enjoying the benefits of Marriott International’s loyalty programs."

Tribute recently announced more regional expansion, with a new property slated for Singapore.

Tribute Portfolio hotels maintain their independence while tapping Marriott’s global reach via its sales and distribution and loyalty program.
