Indefatigable long time human rights and tourism campaigner will lead discussion and share her experiences

Tricia Barnett, long time boss at Tourism Concern and now campaigning for womens equality in tourism is to be one of the discussion leaders at the coming Sustainable Tourism Masterclass.

The September 20th Sustainable Tourism Masterclass will have one main subject – GREENWASH – the disguises it comes under, how it reduces client’s trust and willingness to buy

At the masterclass, Tricia, Slow Food UK, Ed Gillespie of Futurra, Peter McAllister of the Ethical Trading Institute, among others will lead discussions on:

TOURISM GREENWASHING and DESTINATIONS – FOOD AND DRINK – CLIMATE CHANGE – THE ENVIRONMENT – WORKERS RIGHTS – HUMAN RIGHTS –  WOMENS RIGHTS – FAIR TRADING- CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

And, above all – how the tourism industry can both be honest and transparent AND run an even more economically-sustainable tourism business or destination.

The event will also use the Totem Tourism Greenwash Report which is available HERE

The event will be held on 20th September at leading travel PR and marketing company Four bgb in central London.

Said Valere Tjolle " I am really pleased that Tricia is joining us – in my view there is no-one in the world who is better experienced or more capable to lead a discussion on this subject. I am also particularly gratified that the masterclass is to be held at Four bgb where Managing Director Debbie Hindle has been committed to sustainable tourism over many years and is a special advisor to the Travel Foundation."

The masterclass format is short informative presentations by specialists followed by discussion – Chatham House rules (reporting of subjects but no reporting of names!)

So that all the important subjects packed into the day can be dealt with fully and satisfactorily and leave time for discussions and networking, the 12 hour intensive masterclass will include lunch, supper, and post event information.

The masterclass is kept to a maximum of 25 participants to provide in depth understanding and discussions of this complex and substantial opportunity. The current package cost includes full information pack, networking luncheon and supper: £250 per attendee which includes a copy of the Tourism Greenwash Report.

Book HERE

There are also a few tourism masters students seats available for £150 each (you need to email [email protected] to claim a masters seat)
