TripAdvisor has had to scrap its controversial new "ratings" system, which allows reviewers to mark hotels, restaurants and attractions without leaving a written review. The travel website has come under close scrutiny in recent years, with hundreds of hoteliers claiming that many of its anonymous reviews are either fake or defamatory.

Pop star Lady Gaga racks up 20 million Twitter followers. The singer sets a record by becoming first person to attract 20 million followers on Twitter. Second place goes to Justin Bieber, who ‘only’ has 18 million… A relatively early adopter, @ladygaga joined the site on 26 March 2008. She took over as the most popular person on Twitter from Britney Spears in August 2010.

RTthe species is more digital than the male. According to the research, women are 73% more likely than men to have watched a full-length TV show online and 40% more likely to play games on Facebook.
