Tropical Locations bought by Western & Oriental
Asia luxury specialist Tropical Locations, a division of Bob Mortimore Travel, has been sold to Western & Oriental Travel for £175,000 cash.
The purchase is W&O’s seventh acquisition since floating on AIM in March 2006.
The addition of the luxury tailor-made holiday operator increases the overall scale and reach of the W&O to key destinations in Asia, Indian Ocean, South Africa and the Caribbean.
Initially Tropical Locations will remain in its current West London office.
“Back office synergies will be available immediately and the business is expected to bring a profitable contribution to the group in the current financial year,” W&O said.
W&O chairman David Howell said: “Tropical Locations is an acknowledged expert for luxury destinations in the Far East and this acquisition is an important geographic addition to the Western & Oriental group.
“We will also benefit from the increased product breadth in the Indian Ocean, South Africa and the Caribbean which will further enhance our scale as a group in these regions.”
