TSA officers arrested for passenger thefts
Three Miami Airport TSA screeners have been arrested for allegedly stealing from passengers.
TSA employees 22-year-old Elizabeth Fuster, Labarrius Williams, 33 and 20-year-old Josue Gonzalez were accused of working together to steal from travelers.
Miami-Dade Police were supplied CCTV footage from the TSA of the three working together to distract travelers.
They then stole money from their belongings going through screening machines.
Police saw Fuster, Williams and Gonzalez remove $600 from a passenger’s wallet while being screened.
All three TSA officers were seen on ‘several’ other occasions conspiring to commit other thefts, the arrest affidavit said.
Following police interviews, two of the three have confessed in written statements.
“We actively investigated these allegations. Any employee who fails to meet our ethical standards is held accountable,” a TSA spokesperson said.
