TTI conference tackles alternatives to pay per click
Going Beyond Search is the topic of the Travel Technology Initiative’s spring conference.
The event on April 25 in London will focus on the industry’s concerns that search engine marketing is getting too expensive and that there are other alternative ways to market online.
The conference will explore subjects such as affiliate marketing, online loyalty schemes, improving usability and taking advantage of the mobile internet.
TTI chairman Tony Allen said: “It is essential that travel companies get the best return they can from their online marketing spend.
“The search engines have dominated online marketing but Beyond Search, TTI’s spring conference, will lift the lid on alternatives to pay per click, showing travel companies that there are many other ways to grow business online rather than just surrendering their marketing budgets to the search engines.”
Speakers confirmed include Cosmos commercial director Stuart Jackson, TUI UK head of new media Graham Donoghue, Opodo head of web development Tanya Lidstone, Cendant TDS consumer travel services EMEA managing director Daniela Wagner, Mark Warner marketing director Nigel Wragg, Leisure Direction managing director Alan Potts, TripAdvisor international business development vice president Robin Ingle, Hitwise UK head of research Heather Hopkins and Sun Mircosystems travel and hospitality global business development manager Stefanie Lofgren.
The event is free to TTI members and discounted for members of most UK travel trade associations. It is being sponsored by Sun Microsystems and Hitwise. Details can be found at www.tti.org/conference .
