Rather rotund Surrey travel agency sales director Matt Todd has pledged to drop five and a half stones in a bid to raise money for a charity that is helping his boss’ 11-year-old daughter, who suffers from cerebral palsy.
Matthew Todd of Qwerty
Matt works as a sales director at Qwerty Travel in Frimley which is owned by Matthew Somers whose daughter Yasmin was diagnosed with her illness as well as spastic quadriplegia when she was just ten months old.
Now Matt is asking friends and colleagues to sponsor him during a super diet which will last until the end of March next year and has so far raised just over £1,000. Before the diet, Matt weighed in at a hefty 20 and a half stones.
The charity which Yasmin will benefit from over the coming years, Footsteps Foundation Charity, needs £10,000.
Said Matt: “The time has come. After years of eating I have finally decided to give it up. I would like to think that my friends refer to me as cuddly but some may consider fat, chubby, overweight or even massive as a more accurate description. However I think it’s unanimous that I could do with losing a few pounds.
“After being inspired by Yasmin I am going to do it for myself and try to do a small thing to help her out. Her parents are trying to raise £10,000 for the Footsteps Foundation Charity which Yasmin will directly benefit from over the next few years. This is why I am asking you to sponsor me to lose my weight. With so much motivation how could I fail?”
