TUI launches Jamaica fundraising appeal
TUI Care Foundation launches fundraising appeal to support communities in Jamaica affected by Hurricane Melissa
Following the catastrophic Category 5 Hurricane Melissa, the TUI Care Foundation has launched an emergency fundraising appeal to support communities across Jamaica.
The hurricane has caused widespread devastation, destroying homes, schools and infrastructure, and leaving thousands without access to essential services.
It made landfall with sustained winds of up to 115 miles per hour,
Entire coastal areas and rural communities have been cut off by flooding and landslides, and the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
In response, the TUI Care Foundation is mobilising its Emergency Relief Fund to provide both immediate and long-term recovery aid.
The Foundation will be working closely with partners to ensure that every donation makes a tangible difference.
100% of every donation will go directly to projects in Jamaica, to support people affected by the hurricane.
In addition, the TUI Care Foundation has committed to match each donation received meaning that for every pound or euro contributed by donors, the Foundation will add the same amount.
Donations can be made directly through the TUI Care Foundation’s website.
The TUI Care Foundation supports and initiates projects which create new opportunities and contribute to thriving communities in tourism destinations all over the world.
