Tunisia reports surge in visitors
Tunisia is reporting a surge in visitors with figures for October and November up year on year.
The latest figures from the Tunisian National Tourist Office (TNTO) show a 13.3% increase in October, year on year and a 29.7% increase in November, year on year.
From January to November 2014, figures rose from 396,784 UK visitors in 2013 to a new high of 413,317 visitors this year.
The country’s Minister of Tourism, Ms. Amel Karboul, who was appointed in January 2014, has backed a quality assurance scheme for tourism – The National Quality Label.
UK & Ireland director for the Tunisian National Tourist Office, Tarek Aouadi, said: "We’re thrilled to report such impressive continued growth from the UK visitor market. These strong figures show that Tunisia, which has long been popular with UK visitors, continues to appeal thanks to its continually improving tourism offering."
