Turkish bargains galore, says ABTA
Turkey: Low prices available, and no Foreign Office warnings
Anyone interested in booking a trip to Turkey or Cyprus this year “cannot lose” because prices are so good, according to ABTA.
Sean Tipton, spokesman for ABTA, reportedly told The Times that travellers to the two destinations are likely to get a good deal come what may. The newspaper quoted him as saying: “If you book now you are guaranteed to get either a cut-price holiday, or if the situation does change, a full refund or the chance to change destination.
“Bookings to Cyprus fell by 19 percent in January, and by 28 percent to Turkey, so there are some excellent deals around. At present the Foreign Office has not issued any warning to about travel to either country – which means there’s no reason not to go there. If they change that, and do advise against non-essential travel to Turkey and Cyprus, then every tour operator will be happy to change your arrangements.”
