TV Travel Shop signs with Anite
TV Travel Shop has signed a contract worth over £300K with Anite Travel Systems tour operator systems technology.
The contract is to supply the ATOP reservation system, specifically designed for tour operators, combined with a series of Anite’s new technology products, including its Windows-based Brochure Pricing application and its Management Information System.
Commenting on the deal, TV Travel Shop CEO Harry Goodman said: “We wanted to create a new tour operating start up within TV Travel Shop and our first step was to engage a travel industry expert, Michael Vinales, as Product Director to spearhead this new business. The next step was to find a trusted technology partner to automate the operation. TV Travel shop is carried on all major multi-channel television platforms and can be accessed by more than 11 million households so we required a reliable, stable solution with the capacity to support a large number of users.”
The contract is based on Anite’s Pay As you Pax pricing model, which will be hosted and supported from Anite’s high security data centre, based in Slough, Berkshire, and is due to go live in December ready for the peak booking period.
Anite Travel Systems Managing Director Simon Tyrrell said: “Implementing a Pay as you Pax model enables TV Travel Shop Holidays to concentrate on its core business, as the support of its systems is outsourced to a Managed Services specialist. The flexible hosting model adopted by TV Travel Shop coupled with Anite’s ability to provide highly reliable infrastructure will allow the operator to reduce commercial risk, improve speed to market and make considerable cost savings.
“We are obviously delighted to have been chosen as the technology partner for TV Travel Shop Holidays increasing expansion.”
