Two held on suspicion of starting French wildfires
Two 16-year-old boys will appear in court this afternoon charged with arson following the wildfires in southeast France.
The boys have been accused of starting a single blaze in the village of Carro on the French Riviera that officials say destroyed 370 acres of land.
If convicted, they face up to 15 years in prison.
Aix-en-Provence police say a 41-year-old man admitted he accidently started a different wildfire when a spark from a metal-cutting device destroyed 72 acres.
He is also due to appear in court today.
Thousands of people have had to evacuate campsites and homes in the region.
