Choice Hotels Australasia continues to build its portfolio of outstanding properties in Australia and New Zealand with the addition of another two high-end Clarion hotels to the group’s New Zealand network.

The latest additions are the Rendezvous Hotel Auckland – Clarion Collection in the heart of cosmopolitan Auckland and the Clarion Suites Lake Wanaka, a new apartment-style hotel just minutes from Lake Wanaka township in one of the most beautiful parts of the South Island.

New Zealand’s largest hotel with 452 rooms, the Rendezvous Hotel Auckland – Clarion Collection offers superior quality and service and is linked by underground tunnel to Auckland Convention Centre and the first class shops and facilities around Aotea Square.

Facilities include 15 conference rooms, 24-hour business centre, indoor heated swimming pool, health club, individual male and female saunas, Japanese rooftop garden and a variety of award-winning restaurants and bars.

Aimed at New Zealand’s booming leisure market, the Clarion Suites Lake Wanaka offers 34 spacious, apartment-style suites in a secluded setting with expansive views of the snow-capped peaks of Mt Aspiring National Park.

Suites are fitted out with in-room wireless broadband and guest facilities include a hot spa, swimming pool, tennis courts, gym and internet kiosk.

The two new hotels now join their sister Clarion properties in New Zealand at Taupo and Paihia on the North Island and Christchurch on the South Island. These follow another three new CHA signings in Australia – the Quality Hotel A Tamar Valley Resort in the heart of Tasmania’s renowned Tamar Valley near Launceston, Comfort Inn Cedar Lodge at Morwell in Victoria’s picturesque Gippsland region and Comfort Inn & Suites Burwood near Olympic Park in the Sydney suburb of Burwood.

Announcing the signings, CHA Managing Director David Bayes said the new Clarion properties fulfilled the group’s objectives of providing outstanding hotels in New Zealand whilst the new Quality and Comfort properties in Australia were important in enabling the network to provide the full range of accommodation choices to its guests.

“We are particularly thrilled with the Rendezvous Hotel Auckland – Clarion Collection because of its reputation as a first class corporate and leisure property and its new role as one of eight hotels now contracted with Choice Hotels Australasia for the prestigious Rendezvous Hotels & Resorts group.”
