Two more for Shangri-La in China
GUANGZHOU: Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, has opened two new hotels in China: the Shangri-La Hotel, Guangzhou and Shangri-La Hotel, Suzhou
The Shangri-La Hotel, Guangzhou is Shangri-La’s 50th hotel and the newest international luxury hotel to open in Guangzhou for more than a decade.
Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi was among 400 guests on hand to mark the occasion.
The hotel is located adjacent to the Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Centre, home to the well-known, twice-yearly Canton Fair.
Shangri-La Hotel, Guangzhou, is in the heart of the new Guangzhou business district, overlooking the Pearl River. It is a 30-minute drive from Guangzhou Bai Yun International Airport.
Guestrooms at the 36-floor, 704-room hotel have a minimum size of 42 sqm, and up to 305 sqm for suites.
The 108-room Horizon Club includes the most expansive executive lounge in the city.
Eight dining and entertainment venues include WOK TOO Café, serving international cuisine from an exhibition kitchen in a Macanese theme setting. Summer Palace, Shangri-La’s signature Chinese restaurant, offers 18 private dining rooms, many with Pearl River views.
Eight of the 11 treatment rooms at CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La, include infinity baths with healing colour therapy.
Health Club facilities include a gym, aerobics rooms, two open-air tennis courts and the city’s largest indoor swimming pool.
Meeting and banquet space is covered by two ballrooms, eight function rooms, an auditorium, three VIP greeting rooms and a
bridal room, totaling 6,000 square metres.
The 2,240-square-metre, pillarless Pearl River Grand Ballroom is the largest in Guangzhou.
Shangri-La Hotel, Suzhou is the first international deluxe hotel in Suzhou’s National New and Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone and is located between the 28th and 51st floors of the Metropolitan Tower.
The 390-room hotel includes 100 rooms on the Horizon Club floors.
