Two new agencies sign up to AITO
AITO has announced two new agency members – Derbyshire-based Bakewell Travel and Buckinghamshire-based Scott Travel.
The two agencies have joined up to strengthen their relations with independent operators at a time when differentiation and independence are helping them to stand out.
Bakewell Travel, established over 25 years ago, specialises in long haul flights, cruises and business travel.
Founded 13 years ago, Scott Travel, founded 13 years ago has grown almost exclusively by word-of-mouth referrals and repeat business.
Its specialist areas include safari, ski, adventure, honeymoons and long haul tailor-made travel.
Ruth Scott of Scott Travel says: "Clients increasingly expect some first-hand knowledge and input – and we expect the same from the operators we use; hence our decision to join AITO!
"A neighbour said recently that she’s always been too scared to go to Africa but she loves wildlife and would actually trust us to make arrangements for her.
"That summed things up for me: with independent agents and operators, it’s all about knowledge, trust and co-operation."
