Two unvaccinated kids test positive on Royal Caribbean Bahamas cruise
Royal Caribbean reported two positive Covid-19 cases on Adventure of the Seas.
Both were children who are not vaccinated. They were immediately isolated with one displaying mild symptoms and the other asymptomatic, the cruise line said.
It was discovered during planned testing prior to disembarkation during the Bahamas cruise which arrived back in Freeport on Thursday.
The ship sailed with more than 90% fully vaccinated guests as required. Children not eleigible for the vaccine at the time were allowed aboard with their vaccinated parents.
All crew members on the ship are vaccinated.
All other members of their traveling party were vaccinated and tested negative.
"As a family brand, Royal Caribbean typically sails with 10% of our guests under 12 years old, and today, they are ineligible for the vaccine," the cruise line said.
"We are committed to continuing to deliver memorable vacations to families and is why we are conducting simulated cruises."
Children not eligible for vaccines are tested for free.
It comes after two passengers tested positive recently on a sCaribbean sailing operated by sister brand Celebrity Cruises.
