Tying knots in Hawaii
A trend in Hawaii: numbers of visitors going there to get married.
The number of “destination weddings” has tripled in the past decade.
“A growing phenomenon,” is how Frank Haas, marketing director for the Hawaii Tourism Authority, termed the move.
Mr Haas pointed out that marriages used to often be performed in a home town. But that’s changed.
“I think society’s changed to the point where it’s more accepting of different ways of getting married, and one of them is the destination wedding, where you bring the bridal party and friends to the destination for the ceremony,” he told the Kansas City Star.
