UAE juniors given tournament insights
Twenty-two UAE junior golfers, including players from the Emirates national team, were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the DP World Championships, the grand finale of the European Tour’s Race to Dubai, won by Henrik Stenson.
After a similar exercise courtesy of Emerging World at the British Open Championships in Muirfield, the juniors were guests at the Championship Village, Jumeirah Golf Estates, on the penultimate day of the tournament.
The visit was supported by the Emirates Golf Federation and organised in collaboration with Emerging World.
"Our aim is to show and educate the juniors what the tournament is all about. This includes scoring, media, commercial, player facilities, spectator facilities and corporate hospitality," said Nick Tarratt, director of the European Tour International, based in Dubai.
The Emerging World’s Youth Golf Tour provides a golfing education to international juniors through its residential summer camps. The flagship event is the St Andrews Youth Golf Camp in Scotland.
