UFO’ sighting near airport grounds flights
Flights were grounded at an India airport and fighter jets were scrambled after a suspected UFO was spotted in the sky.
A security alert was issued in Manipur state with flights halted for several hours.
It happened in broad daylight with a small white dot ‘visible to the naked eye.’
However due to the distance from the ground it was not distinguishable as a UFO.
“IAF activated its Air Defence response mechanism based on visual inputs from Imphal airport,” the Indian Air Force posted on X.
After the first fighter jet went to investigate, ‘the small object was not seen thereafter.’
Indian authorities have not disclosed any other details.
A defence official said neither of the two jets found definitive evidence of a flying object, local media reported.
Two flights were diverted to other airport and a handful of departing flights were delayed.
The Air Force gave clearance to resume flight operations a couple of hours later.
