UK hikes passport fees
UK passport fees are set to rise
The Government said it will introduce new fees on February 2.
It affects new applications and renewals.
Passport fees for a standard online application in the UK increase from £75.50 to £82.50 for adults
For children it is £53.50, up from £49.
Postal applications rise to £93 for adults and £64 for children.
“The new fees will help move towards a system that meets costs,” the Home Office said.
“The Government does not make any profit from the cost of passport applications.”
It is the first fee hike in five years.
