Uniglobe signs worldwide technology deal with Amadeus
Amadeus Is to provide a global technology platform to Uniglobe Travel, the world’s largest travel franchise.
The platform will be used by Uniglobe agencies in Europe, Asia, The Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America.
It will comprise a travel agency desktop called Amadeus Selling Platform (Vista), a browser-based point of sale platform allowing agents to focus on selling travel and developing customer relations.
This platform allows agents to choose how they work fastest – with cryptic and GUI modes – and is designed to suit both small start-ups and agencies with demanding multi-national customers.
An online corporate self-booking portal will allow employees to plan and book policy-compliant travel itineraries directly from any PC connected to the internet.
Meanwhile, Amadeus Quality Control will allow Uniglobe agencies to monitor the quality control of a client’s PNR while automatically searching for lower fares, seat assignments, and upgrade options for clients.
“A single platform allows groups like Uniglobe to make the most of their members’ local expertise and travel management companies to use a business model to extend their geographic reach with a consistent level of service,” says Gillian Gibson, Amadeus vice president, multinational customer group.
