Union wins BA strike appeal

The court of appeal has backed the Unite cabin crew union against an injunction won by the airline on Monday to block strike action.
The court decided not to uphold British Airways’ injunction against the union cabin crew strike ballot.
The first new walk-out could now happen as soon as Monday although union bosses called for the dispute to be settled by negotiation.
A judge on Monday backed the airline in its fight against the union by ruling that a technicality over spoilt ballot papers meant the latest series of four five day walk-outs could not go ahead.
But that decision has been overturned on appeal this morning.
Unite had warned that it will hold another ballot in the ongoing dispute over working conditions, jobs and pay if it lost the appeal.
The first Unite strike had been due to start on Tuesday, ending on May 22, with the three further strikes planned to begin on May 24, May 30 and June 5.
