Unique Group Offers Personalised Boutique Accommodation
Sydney-based Unique Hotels has stepped up its presence in Australia and New Zealand with the appointment of Claire Oxlade as Business Development Manger, increased its portfolio of boutique hotels, introduced exclusive seasonal specials in the two markets and developed a new website for agent bookings.
Created on July 1 Unique Hotels currently represents 12 intimate to medium sized city centre located corporate hotels in Paris, London, New York, Los Angeles and Bangkok. Many of the properties had previously been a part of the Boutique Hotels Group.

Already well known to corporate travellers in Australia, all 12 of the 4 to 4 ½ star hotels are situated in convenient central city locations, offer stylish contemporary décor, provide personalised service and have value for money tariffs, said Ms Oxlade.
A favourite with corporate guests who travel with their families, our carefully selected hotels are “also popular with show business and entertainment personalities who enjoy the intimate feel of these lush hotels,” she said.
All hotels provide seasonal specials for the Australian and New Zealand markets, she added.
The Hotel Verneuil, for instance, is currently leading in with a rate of Euros 163 for a double while the Time Hotel in New York has rates starting from US$225 plus taxes for a double.
The Parkes Hotel in London is currently offering a special ‘down under’ rate from £799 for a three night say, airport transfer, champagne on arrival and breakfasts and a daily newspaper. (This is for single or double occupancy with a one way airport transfer).
Ms Oxlade said that all hotel rooms in the Unique Group are Wi-Fi equipped while each hotel also has a compact business centre offering additional services for the corporate traveller.
She added that she would be targeting agents dealing with corporate business agents and intends to meet more of them in tandem with the visit of Jim McDonnell, Director Marketing, Time Hotel, when he makes a sales mission to Australia next month.
Agents can book the 12 existing hotels – more boutique properties will be added in key cities – using the www.uniquehotels.com.au website. As well, rates have been loaded in the GDS, she said.
