United Airlines restarting direct China flights
United Airlines will resume nonstop flights to China later this month.
It plans to restart direct service from San Francisco to Shanghai four times a week from 21 October.
It has been operating Shanghai flights between San Francisco and Shanghai via Seoul since resuming trans-Pacific services in July.
It will deploy Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the route.
"We look forward to resuming nonstop service and offering our customers greater convenience and shorter flight times between San Francisco and Shanghai," said Patrick Quayle, United’s Vice President of International Network and Alliances
Reservations are live on the United.com website.
Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic United also operated flights to Shanghai from Los Angeles, Chicago and New York.
The airline will also resume service to Taiwan.
Scheduled to restart on 1 November, United will fly to Taipei three times a week from SFO, also using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
