United Airlines to fly year-round to Rome
United Airlines is upgrading its New York/Newark-Rome service to year round as it celebrates 20 years of flying to Italy.
Flights to the Eternal City will be expanded to November through to March and will operate three times a week up to a daily service on selected dates.
The airline will continue to operate its seasonal service to Rome during summer months from Chicago O’Hare, New York/Newark Liberty and Washington Dulles.
Since launching flights to Italy in 1997, United has carried 7.6 million customers on nearly 42,000 flights, it says.
This year it also celebrates a decade of linking Rome with Washington Dulles.
"Expanding our schedule to operate year-round to Rome means more customers from throughout the U.S. have additional opportunities to visit Italy," said Marcel Fuchs, United’s VP of Atlantic sales.
"Our service to Rome is timed perfectly for customers making connections from more than 75 cities around the United States and Latin America and it offers our Italian customers another convenient way to see New York or connect to other destinations."
